You've had your dream wedding embedded in your mind for as long as you can remember. Not really a big surprise, actually, considering that to get married to your very own prince charming was a lifelong dream of yours. While other little girls were dreaming of fancy dresses and faraway places and busy careers, you were busy fantasizing about being whisked off of your feet by a dashing man who would help you have your happily ever after.

And you liked it that way.

After all, you've never been burning with ambition to climb the corporate ladder like you know your sisters do, and you certainly have never seen yourself trotting around the globe like your best friend does. Sure you want to land a stable job, and going to a beach once in awhile is fun, but you're not exactly driven with the need to fire up the workplace or to visit most of the countries around the world. You like understated class and style and fashion, and you like to be surrounded with familiar things and familiar people and familiar people.

That's probably the reason why you found the start of your very own happily ever after in the office. Not in some desert in a faraway land, not in the middle of adventure, and certainly not out of the norm. You're working as a legal secretary in one of the city's respected firms, and you were asked to coordinate with the law office's youngest partner for an important case. Meetings and phone calls turned into lunches and dinners, and before you knew it you were already dating the charming and enigmatic lawyer.

You would go to the movies or watch plays and musicals, do a round of golf or go bowling, have a picnic or dine in new restaurants. In a nutshell, it was laidback and simple, and you wouldn't have it any other way. Over dessert one evening, with violin music playing in the background and the mesmerizing city lights surrounding your al fresco dining table, he asked you to marry him and, with a happy smile, you whispered yes. It was the start of the rest of your life with the man of your dreams.

Little did you know then, however, that before you can walk down the aisle and exchange vows of forever, you had to attend to a million details that sapped your energy and eroded your good humor. But you try your best to take it in stride. The wedding, after all, is not only about the two of you; it's about having the most important people in your life with you as well.
